Book – Think like a monk
Author – Jay Shetty
Genre – Non fiction
Published – 8.9
20 by HarperCollins
๐งโโ๏ธThe book evidently shows the depth of study done by Jay Shetty. His insights in books are at par. The book begins with how first time with his friend he accompanied expecting nothing much from a session. And how it changed life and perspectives forever. There on he begins to differentiate between monk thinking and monkey thinking which we can easily relate to accept the truth. The contrast is a dust fallen on the mirror where we can’t see the reflection crystal clear!

๐งโโ๏ธHe has elaborated everything with correct facts, legends exemplified from all parts of the world – from different times and different cultures, his mentions right from Mahabharata to Imam Ali or Bible to Bella Hadid, his personal anecdotes, his visions, suggestions for routine, meditation techniques, showing a path of visualisation or handling egos are totally impactful and thought provoking. He has encapsulated so much in one book is commendable!
๐งThe best part for me was that I listened it on audible in Jay’s voice only, so I enjoyed his wisdom more coming from himself. The narration and content is amazing, satisfying and recommendable.
๐งโโ๏ธThe essence and take away for me from the book is like infinity, but to sum up it was like him not living life like a monk isolating from the world ,but certainly thinking like a monk! Our brain is constantly at work, so to channelise it properly we only should take charge of our own life and give it a direction.
๐งโโ๏ธThe vedic personality test provided in appendix is helpful to know our Varna. The breathwork preparation and gratitude meditation assessments are informative and engaging.
๐งโโ๏ธThe language is very simple and we can connect easily with each of his word. They are gentle yet mean sharp. It is quite intriguing to further keep reading the substance as it totally possessed my attention and gave energy.
